The Legal Nurse Consultant Salary.......
.......is as varied as the work itself.
As in most disciplines, experience and training will open doors to the higher paying positions.
The theme of this entire website is simple: the Nurse Shortage is REAL........and it's getting worse.
While that fact threatens everyone........including our own families, it has also changed the face of nursing forever.

We are in demand, EVERY WHERE IN THE WORLD.
-
With that demand comes a new respect for what we do.
-
Salaries are beginning to reflect our new status.
-
We have more control over our work schedules and private lives.

Our experience is preparing us for new and exciting opportunities.
In recent years we've experienced the concept, then the reality of the Nurse as an Entrepreneur.
Our skills have always been extremely valuable. They are now also extremely marketable.
No where is this more true than in the field of Legal Nurse Consulting.
Some Nurse consultants choose to work within an existing law firm. This is, in effect, a full time job; and they are paid a regular and pre-determined salary.
In my work experience, a salaried position almost always requires lots of overtime hours-----some paid..........most not.
It's usually a trade-off for the security that comes from a regular paycheck, and is a welcome option for many of us.
There also exists a booming "free lance" market for the:
The most commonly cited salary figures for a free lance Legal Nurse seem to be between $60 and $150 per hour. Here in South Carolina the numbers are actually a bit higher. They may even be higher or lower where you are working. Do some checking before you commit to anything.
I hope that you will visit the rest of our site and send any questions you may have.
Here are a few questions that always seem to pop up when I am asked about my Legal Nurse Consultant experience.
-
Am I certified? No
-
Have I ever been asked for certification? No
-
Do I intend to become certified? Maybe; but only because I enjoy the process (I am a firm believer that one cannot be too thin, too rich, or have too many certificates.)
-
Does Consulting interfere with my retirement? Not at all. I usually receive several months to review the relevant charts. I review those charts on my own schedule, and they can be reviewed as well in a traveling car or plane. (or soaking up some sun out on the deck while supervising my husband's gardening activities). I usually know a month in advance of when and where I will be required to appear.
-
Isn't the work somewhat intimidating? Not at all. I am assisting a lawyer this time(instead of a doctor)to guarantee the best possible care for each patient we encounter. For thirty years the patients have been my primary concern. THEY STILL ARE.
-
Would I recommend Legal Nurse Consulting to others? Unequivocably, Yes.
