Even the term,
"Independent Nurse Contractor" has a nice feel to
it.
The questions arise:
- How and why give up the security of my current
position? Can I be sure of
finding work?
- Can I handle the
independence?
- Won't the paperwork be
overwhelming?
- What are the tax
consequences?
- Do I need additional licensing? And if so, how and
where and when?
- Will I need to re-locate?
Often?
- What if I fail? Is there a backup
plan?
- Is there anyone I can talk
to?
- Can I get help along the
way?
- What about insurance? Health?
Malpractice?
- Is this just a passing fad, or is it a lifetime
career move?
- I know I'll need a business plan but where do I
begin?
